What makes a rose a peony rose

A peony rose is still a rose. Its bud holds a great many petals packed tightly together, so it looks like a peony bud, and as it opens the flower turns full and rounded rather than pointed. Some shops sell the same look under the name garden roses.

Our florists use peony roses on their own in mono bouquets and next to matthiola, hydrangea or spray roses in mixed ones. To see whether a bouquet has them, look for the word “peony” in its name or next to the rose in the list of flowers on the product page.

Care is the same as for any rose: cut each stem at a slant, remove the leaves that would end up under water, keep the water clean and stand the vase away from radiators and strong sunlight.

Your questions answered

Is a peony rose a kind of peony?

No, it is a rose. It gets the name from the shape of its flower: so many petals packed together that the head looks like a peony.

Why choose peony roses rather than peonies?

Real peonies are mostly around at the end of spring and the start of summer. Peony roses are not tied to that short season, so they are a way to get a similarly full, rounded bouquet at other times of the year.

Can I send a peony rose bouquet to someone in Astana?

Yes. Put the bouquet in the cart, then give the recipient’s name, phone number and Astana address at checkout, pick the date and a time slot and pay online. Our courier takes it to the address you gave.

When can the bouquet arrive?

On any date and in any free time slot you pick at checkout, today included if slots are still open. Courier delivery and pickup run daily from 10:00 to 21:00, on Fridays until 23:00.

Can I collect the bouquet myself?

Yes, pickup from the Cactus shop at Kunaeva St. 14B is free. Choose “Pickup” at checkout, along with the time that suits you.
