Peonies through the year
A peony is a flower in its own right, not a type of rose. Its round bud opens into a large, cup-shaped bloom with layer upon layer of petals, and many peonies are fragrant too.
The main peony season runs from the end of spring into the start of summer. In autumn and early winter peonies travel a long way, from southern hemisphere growers in countries such as Chile and New Zealand, and there are far fewer of them. Every bouquet our florists make with peonies in the mix appears in this collection.
Peonies are often sold as closed buds that open up in the vase. Trim each stem on a slant, strip the leaves that would end up in the water and fill the vase with cool water. A warm room makes the buds open sooner, while a cooler one keeps the flowers fresh for longer.

Is a peony rose the same as a peony?
No. A peony-shaped rose is still a rose: it simply has a dense, many-petalled head that looks like a peony. Bouquets with these roses have a separate collection, “Peony roses”.
Why is this page sometimes empty?
It only shows bouquets that are ready to order: when the shop has no peonies, there are no peony bouquets either. A new one appears here as soon as our florists make it.
Can I send peonies to someone in Astana?
When peony bouquets are in stock, yes. At checkout, fill in the recipient’s name, phone number and Astana address, pick the date and a time slot, and pay online. Our courier then takes the bouquet to that address.
When can the bouquet arrive?
Courier delivery across Astana and pickup at the shop both run daily from 10:00 to 21:00, on Fridays until 23:00. Checkout shows the free time slots for the date you choose.
Can I pick it up myself?
Yes, pickup is free at the Cactus shop, Kunaeva St. 14B. Choose “Pickup” and a time at checkout.
